Tire size with stock rims
I've been searching through the threads about tires and can't seem to find out how big of tires I can without a lift or leveling kit with stock 17" rims. How big can I go without rubbing? I still have the stock Michelin street tires on now. I like the looks of the Cooper STT but I don't do alot of offroading except during huntin' season. Will 16" rims fit on a 06?
Ibelieve that you can fit 33 12.50 R17 under that trucks with factory wheels. Personally I would not try to place 16" wheels on the truck; if they did fit over the rotors you would be taking away allot of the precious air flow required to cool the breaks. Leading to warped rotors especially if you have to cross any streams or creeks while hunting.
For some reason, I think I remember hearing that 16" rims will NOT fit on your Ram because of the size of the rotors. 17's however fit perfectly on mine because mine came factory with 16"s

yea the smallest rim you can go is a 17 and the biggest tire you can go without any suspension work is a 285/70 r 17 or a 33 12.50 r 17
