Hey guy's, I'm lookin for some info here. I've read through your guys's posts on straight pipe'n but no one has touched on my question.
I have an '03 straight piped, sounds great noticed a little loss in bottom end but nothin major, but my real concern is since i've done that I have noticed that my engine is a bit more ticky or tappier then before. Has any one else noticed that with thers and if not am I doing any damage. I brought it to the dealer and they told me , in there words "you are just getting some interior resonance from your exhaust" and told me to use fuel additive for the bit of ticking that they heard, "not enough sulfur in the fuel". But I just want to get your guys opinion. Thanx

 

A fuel additive will help to quiet those ticking noises you hear. I've never heard of straight piping hurting a diesel before. At most you just lose a little lowend torque. Mine has been straight piped for 4 years now.

 

Fill in your sig so tha we know what year Ram you have for us.

I'm running 1oz of 2 sroke per gallon and it helps to quiet things down, however I don't think it's reccomended on the newer Rams.
