Default Quiet Truck ??? Maybe

This may be a stupid question, but, I own a 1998 Cummins 2500. Everybody knows how loud these things are. I was wondering if there is any way to quiet this engine a little. I like the noise but my wife and kids hate it. It wakes everyone up in the house when I fire it up in the mornings. HaHa.

Thanks

OK what's next, your unit too big and she want you to get it trimmed, you can retard the timing 2 degrees, that's what they did on the 05's but I set it back up with the Roch to make it a little faster, I can put up with the noise, so man up and tell them it's the sound of power,or like cutter said buy a 6.7 and sound like a chevy

Come on guys be nice - - you all know if 'mamma aint happy nobody's happy'

What's your exhaust set up? Have you straight pipped it or anything like that; if so go put a muffler back on it.

If the big issues is the mornings is it worse in the cool weather? If so plug it in so that the motor is warm so that you don't have to idle so long.

Cover the inside of the engine compartment with sound deadening insulation.
