What do you guys think?? I found an 01 2500 V10 with a seized motor. The body is in perfect shape and so is the dash! I want the dash because mine is falling apart and looks like a jigsaw puzzle. The V10 has an automatic and my CTD has a NV5600. So the tranny won't do me any good. I don't know if this truck is worth $1500 w/o the engine. The seller wants $800 for the engine, but I'm not into those V10 gas guzzlers and really have no interest in making it work again.

Do you guys think that this is worth $1500?? Both my CTD and this truck are identical other than the tranny and engine. Same color exterior, and interior, both are quad cabs, both are 2500, both have about 170k on the clock. I was thinking about parting it out after I am doneyanking parts off of it.

 

I say do it. if you have the time and the ebay account you will profit.

 

What are you planning on doing, sitting that cab on your chassis?

If you don't mind the price too much I would go for it. There is nothing like the feeling of going out and wheeling and trashing a fender then thinking to yourself, " eh, I got another one!"

 

I want the dash out of it and some interior parts. I thought that I could use the transmission in my 1500, but then I found out it was a V10 and the trannys are different. I also found out that the tires were bald so they are of no use either. The more I looked at it the more I found out that there are really no usable parts (for me) other than the interrior and body parts. I don't need $1500 worth of interrior parts and the body on my truck is just as good of shape as this one.

Then I figured I could take stuff off the doors, tail gate, rear axle, air bags, radiator, stock rims, spare tire, glass, seats, tail lights, etc. and sell them and get more than $1500. I don't kow if it is worth all of the trouble. Then there is the factor, if i do tear up the body, I always have a spare out back.

 

With how much it weighs, I wonder how much you would get for it it you scrap it after you take off what you want. Might make out that way.

 

Heck yea! If the body is in good shape, you could get at least $1500 just parting out the body! Speaking of...is the body in good shape? I might know a guy...

 

Yes just as good of shape as the truck I am driving.

Don't think it is gonna happen. The more I thought about it, the more I found out there were fewer parts that I could use. I'm gonna spend my truck money elsewhere.
