Default Whistling from AFE Filter

I put an AFE intake & filter in my 2007.5 with the 6.7 Cummins. Now I am hearing ahigh-pitched whistling sound at just about any speed. It is pretty annoying. It sounds like it could be the turbo.

Has anyone else noticed the noise with this intake/filter? If so, any suggestions on how to make it quieter? Should I be concerned about the turbo?

It is your turbo, most people try to make theirs louder, most guys on here take their silencer ring out to make it louder. If you want to quiet it down, put your stock intake back on, that's about the only way.

Ditto on all the above. I have the AFE w/ the stage 2 tube, and she whines on down the road. Like you, I first questioned it, but I've now given in to accepting it.

One of the reasons I installed mine is because I actually LIKE the way it sounds.

They don't make a baffle (that I'm aware of) for the AFE intakes. The truck can breathe better without it. If the sound is annoying now, it will only get worse if you change something else, like add a larger exhaust. No matter what I do to mine, nothing can cover the sound of my wife's screaming. One of the big selling points on this truck was the large grab handle on the passenger side.
If one day the whistle turns into a voice in your head, then I'd say you got a problem......

I not only accept it, I accellerate slightly when cruising past others just to make it louder... no I havent grown up. and dont plan on it either.

Thanks guys... I guess I should head in the other direction and make it even louder! I confess... I find myself accellerating a little also at times to let it be heard.

how did you put a afe Intake? I put a drop in K&N and my check engine light came on. I brought it to dodge and they said I had to remove the K&N cause it tripped the mass air flow sensor. (I done it twice, same result) My truck is 07 6.7
