You have to get the right wheel and you can run 35"s all day long. The wheel I am running is a XD Badlands 18x9 with a +18mm offset and 5.71" backspacing.
I don't know about other configurations but i GUARRANTEE that if you use a 18x9 wheel with the same +18 offset and 5.71" backspace and a tire size of 35"x12.5"x18" , you will not rub. In fact you should be able to run 20x9 with a 12.5" wide tire and the same offset.
BUT, Big BUT here!!! I know a guy who is running the exact same wheel as me and is running Toyo's 35x12.5x20 tires. The toyo's have alot of sidewall meat and will rub very slightly. But I run Pro Comps Extreme T/A's and have no problems.
Actually I have the wheels for sale! I decided to go with 20"s and listed these in the classified section.
buzzy: i didnt catch if your truck was an auto or if you have a programmer or what, but when you went from stock to 35s, what happened to your mileage? i'm gonna ask this in a separeate thread in general, but thought i'd ask someone who doesnt have a lift....

My origonal thinking was a 35" tire would drop my RPM's and thus give better fuel milage. Hard to tell from the lie-O-meter because it is showing a 3mpg drop right now because the computer still thinks I have stock tires.
But I can tell you what I do know. And that is.............
RPM's have dropped from 2200 @ 75 mph to 2000 @ 75 mph
The Speedometer is off by 5.5 mph ( if you it shows 75 , you are actually going 80.5 mph )
And because the computer is off, I am able to give it a little more pedal to pass on the highway without the tranny downshifting.
The big mystery is what the fuel milage will be now. I'm sure some the others can chime in on what happened with milage when they upgraded tire size.
As for me, I'll let you know in a week or so.
