Default 8.3L Swap

We have an old Ford straight truck in our yard that has an 8.3L 6BT in it. 275 HP. Was wondering if anyone ever heard of anyone swapping one into a pick-up. If not, why? Seems like that would be a real beast.

That engine is a little too heavy for a pickup. You can probably do it but you'll need bigger suspension, axles, engine mounts, and probably stiffen the frame a little.

I believe the 8.3L series would be a 6CT, not 6BT. Jakebrake is probably correct; that would be a helluva engine for a pickup truck. I know a guywho hasa 38' Tiara yacht with two of those monsters in the engine room. I can't see installing one in a Ram.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't sure if it was a B series or not. I've always been a fan of cubes and cheap sources of them.
