Maybe we should sit a few out and see what happens. I mean you know they are going to get to the TOTM nominations first and nominate someone right away so just let them have there fun. Then when we do get back into it we just don't post to vote for our nomination. Just remind people to vote. Thats an idea.

 

I read the TOTM thing every month and honestly I don't really think there is anything wrong with the current system, some people just take things way to personally. I mean if I say I don't like the way so and so's truck looks compared to someone else's they automatically take it as a personal attack, when really I am just stating my opinion. If you are in a competition you have to expect people to have different views, but if anyone ever says anything even remotely negative peoples undies get all in a bunch and completely over react and make a big deal out of nothing and that is where the problem lies. I mean saying somethingmean just to be mean isn't right but if I say I don't care for the rims on a truck people freak out (I will agree some people do say stuff that is out of line but still it isn't bad enough to justify a drastic change or shut down TOTM). Everyone likes something different, personally I don't care for appearance mods, some look nice, but I wouldn't do them on my truck. Personally if I am going to spend money on my truck it better have some kind of quantifiable benefit, reliability, mileage, performance, something along those lines, to me it looks cool just doesn't cut it. But hey, that is my opinion, some people like to change the way their vehicle looks and to them that is worth money, to me it is not, it might look nice but I can't justify it even if I do think it looks better. I'm not saying I don't take looks into account, if I'm putting something on and they are all the same price I'll go for the one that looks better as long as it is an equal product as far as strength and all the other things. To each his own, if someone were to say they don't like the lights on the front of my truck and thinks they look stupid I'd say cool, I don't really care, they've kept me from getting a few deer and a couple elk, I don't really care how they look. But a comment like that truck is a piece of **** is just mean and doesn't give a reason. Wow, guess I went on a rant, well I'm done and I didn't mean to offend anyone. And for those of you that have stuff on your truck just to make it look different I have yet to see one in this section that isn't tastefully done and hasn't looked nice.

My thought....just give the ability to vote and take away the ability to comment. The current TOTM/COTM setup is works fine, it's just the comments that always get things going. Get rid of that and just vote for what you want.
