Default Advice on how to handle warranty issue

I am new to the forum and hope someone has some advice. I have a 2004 Diesel 2500 with 74,000 miles on it. Trouble-free truck til now. I was coming home from work and the truck died. The dodge dealership diagnosed the problem was the fuel pump. Is this not considered a warranty part? Is the fuel pump the same thing that's listed in the warranty book which is fuel injection pump or am I missing something?I really don't want to get soaked with a $300.00 part. If I'm right how do tou make your argument.

Thanks,
Dan

all I can say is to go to another dealership. . .some are just like that and deny warranty claims at the drop of a hat.

does the truck want to run, or sputter after a few seconds of running, or nothing at all.

I just had what dodge called a transfer pump replaced under warranty. I have 82k miles and they said it was covered under the cummins warranty. I would definetely go to another dealer. Good Luck!
