So today i opened the hood and attached cardboard across the condensor(rad, air to air etc..) I left no holes is this good? as long as I watch my temp gauge right?
I wouldn't recomend it.

I would think if you attached it to the inside of the grille you would be fine, we have used cardboard against the radiator my whole life but the guy in Mayfairs link makes a very good argument against it, I was actaully planning on building something for the front of my Ram this weekend.

You may want to check and make sure your thermostat isn't stuck open.

I use the Dodge made winterfront, it's made of leather and it works very well. It covers the whole front of the engine area and yet still allows enough air through to keep the engine from over heating. IMHO the Dodge winterfront works better then the grill type inserts do and they cost about the same price as Lund SS inserts.

I'm actually thinking about making a winterfront with some acrylic that I have laying around. Just inserts into the grill area.

mayfairs link is awsome. but you must understand i will watch my temp gauge and not only that it gets pretty cold here in sask. Today its -26 celcius and -36 with the windchill. That makes a diff to. when it gets to -5 or so again i will remove cardboard

Sallyman1, 2 Fridays ago, 3 guys flew in from Saskatchewan to but a CTD from us. They said that it was a 2200 mile ride back home aswe are 1 hour west of Atlanta GA. Guy that bought the truck owns Spirit of the Wild Adventures. Says its a Elk and Whitetail hunting area. Think you might see him around. Look for a James O'Neal Dodge sticker on the tailgate....

I think the point that the guy on that website that I posted earlier was a good one. Once the cardboard gets wet from snow or rain, it could work it's way into the fins of the radiator and THEN you'll have some SERIOUS problems. If I were you, I'd use something other than cardboard.
