My favorite thing to do is stomp it when there's a low rider next to me with the windows down. You would think they would get the hint bigger is better.

For those who can't get enough of the black smoke/soot that spews out when hammerin' down, I can do one better. Last week we went on a train ride to the north pole on the POLAR EXPRESS (ya' the one from the movie). This is a coal burning steam engine. When it passes by, you can actually pick the soot of off your clothes! When they hammer down, the whole town disappears! Just awesome!
Maybe I'll convert my Ram to a coal-fired steam engine. I'll just have to find a midget who can shovel in the coal everyminute or so!

I read a book about a Polish army guy who was arrested by the KGB during WWII and sentenced to several years in a gulag. They took a train to the southern part of Siberia, then walked north the remaining hundred milesbehind a big truck. He said there was no diesel fuel or gasoline there, so the Soviet trucks had steam engines that were powered by firewood. They didn't break any speed records, but there was no shortage of firewood there. It was an interesting book.

Here is a couple of pics. Should have added some to begin with. This site doesn't seem to work well with my router so hopefully the pics come out.

Ya, the old locomotives are cool. This train is the "PERE MARQUETTE 1225". It was used as a model for the train in the movie POLAR EXPRESS, an animated christmas movie with Tom Hanks. A neat story about this train. Way back when Michigan State University wanted a train for display for a theme on the days of steam power, they contacted the railroad to see if they had anything for donation. The only reason this train was donated was because of the engine number, 1225, cause it had a tie tothe date of christmas. Otherwise it was scheduled to be hacked into scrap. It is now restored and located at the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso Michigan. They run every weekend in December, and in the fall they run a 12 hour trip into the northern lower penninsula. Its cool when this train runs, as every intersection it crosses has a crowd of people waving and taking pictures. Even in this day and age of go fast-save time, its nice once in awhile to sit back and "smell the soot"!

Enjoy making BLACK SMOKE while you can. Here in California a Woman "Dem." rep. in Sacramento has proposed a law that will OUTLAW ALL Diesel 3/4 up too 3 ton Trucks older than 2007 by the year 2014. Then in 2017 the minimum age for ANY 3/4 to 3 ton truck would rise to 2010. The law would prohibit ANY older truck trom being licenced for operation on California highways. SPECIAL NOTE, MANY OTHER STATES ARE LOOKING AT THE CALIFORNIA PROPOSAL AND PLAN ON FOLLOWING SUIT WITHIN A YEAR OR SO IF THE CALIFORNIA LAW HOLDS UP.

The specific purpose of the law is to remove ALL older technology diesels from California highways to reduce the SOOT in the diesel emmisions. The law could cost business and personal users up to 50 BILLION $ to comply with, assuming everyone went out and replaced thier trucks with new ones. As we know that can't happen because most of us could not afford to do so. Remember your old truck would be worthless because the restriction is expected to move country wide within two years, so no one would be willing to buy the truck from you.

And besides, California is at least 40 years further advanced in the practice of Comunism. Gonna be a shame to see that nice clean "tree hugging" state slide right off into the pacific when the big ones hit!!
We will all be lined up along the coast with our CTD's ready to help pull the wreckage from the water!!
