Default leather seats

my buddy co-worker has an '06 quad cab with the cloth seats that do not have the stain and odor repellant. as one might imagine, those are not the ideal seats to have in the oilfield. for the last couple months he has been looking for a lightly used or new set of FACTORY TAN front and rears. he has been able to find a few pairs of the gray ones but not so much a match to the rest of his interior. anyone know where to get a set at a reaonable price? and as long as i have your ear, anybody try to install heaters to their factory leathers that didnt come with it as an option? this is something i want to try but i believe i would have to remove my leather to install the elements, and i dont know if all the laramies come pre-wired for it or not...

Instead of replacing the seats, you could do the Katzkin leather seat covers. They have seat heaters as a option.

Theres a company on ebay that claim that dealers order their leather covers from them when a customer wants to upgrade. I think they were like $600 bones. It kind of sounds like a dealer trick. Do your factory covers fit like a glove or are they less than a perfect fit?

Nope not a trick. When I picked up my truck off the dealer lot, the "accessory guy" made one more attempt to sell me all kinds of Mopar goodies. As he was walking me around he showed me a truck that was in the proccess of being converted to OEM leather seats. All they were doing was taking the cloth covers off and replacing them with leather covers with the ram logo in it. I have looked at those on Ebay and I feel that they are the exact same ones I saw the dealer installing for $2500.
in fact those are on my long list of Mods I hope to have soon.

fits likea glove from the factory... there might be some that the accessory guy does at the dealership, but i would probably bet some come from the factory that way, if the package group includes it, i.e. laramie

From what he told me, Thats how they assemble them at the factory. Some get cloth and some get leather but they are all slipped on by hand.
