Doubtfull as the frames were changed slightly... the best person to ask would be parts/service guy.. he could tell you the differances in the 2nd gen/3rd gen frames.. If I recall the 2nd gens were'nt hydroformed fully boxed, and our are..

Yeah, plowing is tough on your truck in general. I did a fair amount of plowing in MN for my dad's business back in the 1980s. I wore out a 3/4 ton Chevy like you wouldn't believe. The transmission, the alternator, the engine, etc. Hell, even the pedals wear out.

There are a couple of guys on the 3rd Gen forum who think plowing is no big deal, even for a 1500! I couldn't convince them that plowing snow is not good for your truck, especially a nice 1/2-ton Ram. You CTD guys probably have a better understanding of the situation. I'm not saying you shouldn't plow snow, just be prepared for it to wear out your stuff!

Well, he's got a really nice truck with an auto trans ( pretty sure ) and I'd hate to see him rip it up thinking that he was gonna get rich doing so. There's a REASON you see old beater trucks doing the plowing.

I have a Western MVP. I know that when I bought my plow that there was a difference just in the undercarriage mount between SLTs and Laramies. You my also need to get a new wiring harreness as I did to match up with the headlights. Westerns are a plug-n-play type of system for the headlights, only have to splice in the blinkers and a running light. I did add a Timbren Suspension Enhancement System in the front, about $100.00 if I remember correctly. Well worth it, when I pick up the blade, the front goes down about half of what it use to. No affect on ride as with no plow it is not in contact with the axle. My blade weights about 800lbs.
