I have a stock05 quad cab 4x4 CTD w/auto. I bought a Superchips and just got back from a trip to Dallas ( 400 miles one way). With the Superchips installed, it ran great. The display showed 21.2 but checking miles traveled and gallons used, it was actually 16.6. The cruise control also had a pulsing to it.
I switched it back to stock and drove it home (250 miles) the rest of the way. The cruise control worked fine and the display showed 20.8 andwhen itactually was 19.4. This was all at 75 MPH on I35. Why does the readout lie so much more with the programmer installed? Has anyone else had the issue with the cruise control?

 

well. . .the lie-o-meter doesnt see the extra fuel that is used. . .but does notice you are not applieing as much throttle to get to speed. . .hence the difference.

as far as the cruise, I have heard of that before, but I cannot remember the remedy off the top of my head.

 

I had read where some of these add ons where supposed to increase the mileage. I don't know if driving say 65 would see an increase over stock but going 75 it was a little worse.

 

on the lower settings they will. . .added timeing for these engines goes a long way. however some people actualy got better mileage with higher settings. . .I am finding that to be true on my truck. my TST on hp setting 3 or lower and tq settings 2 or lower give me lower mileage than when I have it set to 4/3 with got me 375hp on the dyno. however at one of those settings I still get better mileage than stock. but anything above that and my right foot gets a little happy thus my mileage goes back closer to stock. . .untill 9/9 (supposed to add 190hp and 560tq) when the black cloud demons beg me to let out of the throttle when over 2k rpm then burry it into the floor board[8D]

 

I justdrove iton "performance" or the stock level. I didn't try the "tow" setting.

 

try the tow and see what happens. . .thats probably just the timeing/low pressure advanceprogram.
