How come the tow mirrors for 2nd gens only fit from 02 up? The doors look exactly the same to me. Is there a difference?

 

Its probably in how they mount. But you know, you'd never put the mirrors on anyway. You won't even put the cab lights on your truck and you love those things

 

me hemi didnt have them and i hated it...love the cummins with the mirrors...use them all the time!

 

Look into "Power Vision" mirrors. I have a set on my 98. I needed to replace the left one, the motor and gear had never been lubed. The Co was very easy to work with, and they make mirrors for just about every truck.

I've got the powered / heated mirrors, I was just wondering why I couldn't use the tow mirrors from an 02?

GA .... I LOVE the cab lights, I'm just too scared to drill the holes.

you can get tow mirrors for yours, they just wont be poweredor heated.

 

I never saw them listed for my year. They always seem to be from 02 up.

I think I could live without heated mirrors, but I kinda like the powered part.

 

Speaking of the heated mirrors, is the little spot on the mirror for the heat suppose to light up when they are on? I can see the little sqiggley lines but they do not light up at night when I turn them on. And it hasn't been cold enough here to even use them yet so I have no idea if they even work.

I know, Stupid question but dumbasses like me need to know!

 

I don't think the lines on the mirrors light up, just the light on the switch. Hit the switch and put yyour hand on it, you should feel the warmth. I know they melt snow.

 

What is snow? I thought that stuff is just in movies!
