Has anyone tried one of the bolt on scoop kits? They are about 1/4th the cost of a new hood.

My buddy put this same one on his 2nd gen. It looks sweet. His truck is blue and the chrome insert really stands out. It seems built well too.

I was thinking about painting the hood black (old school muscle car style). Do you guys think I should paint the whole hood black, or just the top?

Maybe white with black accents like this but I don't think all black. One trucking company by me painted all the hoods on theirsemisflat blackfor glare. Look like crap IMO.

Is this hood for your white Ram Bob or another truck?

Really ?!?!?

I didn't think you wanted to Hot Rod your daily driver? i thought you were looking for another one?

I'm still a little confused about what ( if anything ) keeps the rain - dirt - leaves - ect. out of a functional hood scoop on a daily driver. Race cars - yeah I can see em, but don't you think they're more harm than good on a daily driver?

I figured it was time to give this one a face lift. I'd like to give it a muscle car look. I'm thinking about changing the bumper, hood, headlights and giving it a vintage black muscle graphic kit down the sides. I was thinking about painting the hood black because most of the MOPAR muscle cars I like have black hoods or a big black stripe down the middle of the hood.

I also was thinking the scoops on the LMC hoods are not that big, and if I did paint it black, you wouldn't be able to see it. The more I think about it, the more it seems that it may not be worth the expense for the hood. By the time I get the hood, pay for truck shipping, pay a body shop to paint it and install it, I'll have well over $1000 just to get a scoop on the front.

I may just paint a big black stripe on the front of my hood and spend the $$$ on something else.
