Well if i could do it all over again i would have gotten a 03+ ram, only because of the HP difference. i would do all the exact same things i have done to my 2ng gen. the only thing about the trucks to me (besides hp) is that the 2nd gen's look tougher to me, the front end and the lines of the truck...just looks more rugged and tougher than the newer ones. i LOVE the newer look, because it just looks like a NICER truck, smoother lines and big grill which really makes it sweet, but i traded in my 2002 1500 full loaded ram, that was so awesome and nice i loved it, but i got rid of that for the crank window rugged offroadable mans truck, ya know what im sayin? i didnt want power anything...i wanted to be able to not worry if it gets banged up off trail etc. heres a pic of my old ram and i loved it, fully loaded and i loved the interior of it. it only had the 4.7 but that engine had 5hp less than my 5.7l chevy silverado z71 had and it moved, but the fuel mileage sucked, just really looked and rode very well.

might opt for the 04.5 and up if going to step into 3rd gen.

 

I don't know why you would need more HP? Mine is identical to yours other than the year and it will tow anything that I can hook up to it.

 

Well I did the exact same thing. I traded my 2003 2500 Hemi 4 door with 35 coopers, stock chrome 17 wheels, 2 inch leveling kit, rhino lined, tv, subs, tint, sirus, air intake, superchips, gauges, supercharger, and more...but it got 8 mpg and 12 on a good day...it looks sharp....and i loved it...but i like the rough and tough look of the 02 i have now...here is a pic of my old truck...and my new one!

NC, if you listen very carefully youll hear a quiet voice in your head.I mean thehead on top of your shoulders. Yep thats the one. This quiet voice is the VOICE OF REASONING. I know when I was 18I did alot of stupid stuff and it took me about 8 years later to figure out this. DONT DUMP A SH*T LOAD OF MONEYIN A VEHICLETHEN SELL IT. Youll never come out ahead. Ive been there, done it. Save your cabbage and buy some land, there not making anymore of it. My 2 cents worth thats all but have fun, hook up withas many chicks as you can.

 

I know I know...i get this talk form the old man all the time. But on the side, I have been buying Jeep Cherokees from junk yards since I was 12 and putting and cheap lift on them and tires and man those things go for like 3 or 4 grand when I hbave maybe 1200 in it at max...but I need to quit spending so much cash on this stuff is true. And being 18, I try for as many girls as possible....no serious relationships for this one anytime soon....maybe later....
