Questions...do I need to clean the system (not just drain) of all the regular oil before putting in the synthetic? And, how often do you change the synthetic stuff?

Answers....... NO. It's up to you, I go every 10,000.(all highway miles though)

I ended up going with Mobil 1 5W30 and a Napa gold filter. I was able to find the oil for about $4.20 which to me is not bad. I did flush the motor before changing. We'll see how it goes. Thanks for all the advice.
