Default what oil....???

hey everyone, i own a 2005 dodge diesel, and i am wondering what kind of oil to run in it. when i firts bought it i changed the oil to 15w 40 but i never got that much good feedback from people and mechanics about that synthetic oil year round, they recommend 0w40 rotella or esso 0w40. and so i changed my oil to 0 40 Esso. but since i changed it i heard a few other mechanics to run 15 40 year round.
note that where i live (yellowknife canada) is cold, i mean cold, rite now its -35. gets pretty warm in summer but i thought it would be better to run the same oil year round. i heard its alright to run 0 40 year round and 15 40 year round, but isnt 15 40 a lil too thick for this kinda weather???

I suggest Amsoil HDD 5W-30 synthetic or DEO 5W-40 synthetic. They will flow down to -60 F degrees.

Hey Reddodge, I'm a little south of ya (Alberta side of the 60th parallel) I run shell rotella syn 5W40 year round along with a amsoil bypass filter, works well.
