Well I play with mine so much trying different levels, I gave up keeping track of fuel milage. But thanks to Drew, I am now running level #9 (170hp) and plan to keep it there all week and see if I notice any milage gains.
When I first got my Smarty , I ran a few tanks thru it and hand calculated an extra 2-3 mpg on level #3 (60hp). But thats where I stopped keeping track. Sorry I can't help ya with any usefull info.

I'm running the Sr. and I pretty much love it... there are a few little things I'm not a real fan of, but I'm dealing with it. I live 10 miles from work and I'm generally in stop-and go traffic. On any average week I range from 16-17mpg calculated. My best tank was 605 miles and that was calculated in the low 19's without any fuel additive. Fuel economy has been an added bonus to the real reason I made the purchase... for low end power, I wanted more response pre-boost.As a bi-product of this I get considerable amount of smoke when I'm chugging up steep city hills and what-not. The truck is otherwise stock, except tire size. I ran the 60hp + timing when I first got the smarty and deemed it impractical for the city driving because of the smoke. I turned it down to the 30hp + timing the next day, and thats where it has stayed. My biggest beef with the smarty is the timing adjustment from idle to 2,000 rpm cold. I love the timing on the freeway for economy, but if I start the engine cold it takes 5-10 miles of driving for the loud knocking noise to go away. Once the engine is warmed up it's not an issue. It would be really a sweet idea if Smarty could tweak their timing settings so the timing is stock until the coolant temp reaches 160 degrees or something. Granted I'm sure the noise I hear is doing no harm, it's just annoying. As for thesmoke, I'mconsidering aftermarket intakes/turbos to reduce the turbo lag that would hopefully reduce the smoke.Overall I'm happy with the product and would reccomend it to anyone performace minded.

thanks guys for all the feedback, I just filled up aftrer running the stock settings and netted a 17.9 mpg. best ever with stock settings. kinda curious though as the #1 setting gave me the same mileage.

Steve in the month of September I pulled my Fifth wheel trailer through the Rocky Mountains to Alberta for approximately 2200 miles and it wieghs 7000 lbs. You probably noticed that the gallons of fuel added did not make sense either that is because I took 25 gallons of fuel with me and did not fill everything up until I reached Alberta. Fuel in BC was $4.72/Gal and Alberta was only $3.77/Gal. With summer and winter diesel it is hard to see what is going on at the begining of the year. Up until August I drove 80% city/ 20% highway. At the end of August to early September this was 90% highway/ 10% city this was another trip to Alberta empty at which I obtained above 20 miles/gal. I am sure that my milage stats are accurate as I write down the odometer reading at every fill-up on the fuel receipt and I fill the tank with diesel right to the top. After a couple of fill-ups it should be obvious if the Smarty improves mileage.

OK, yeah that makes sense now. Are you back to 80/20 city/hiway driving now?

Yes I am back to 80% city/20% highway right now. My wife has the truck I walk to work, lucky if I burn a tank of fuel per month.
Everything that has been done to the truck is under scheduled service performed as of yet the only modification to the truck is the Smarty. I do run fuel additive 8 oz PS and 8 oz two stroke oil. I will be doing modifications in the future Gauges on the way, Transmission pan, Diferential covers, Air intake, Cat back exhaust, oil filter Bypass, Transfer fuel tank, possibly locking front hubs, fuel pump upgrade when stock dies, etc.
