Default S&B Diesel Cold Air Intake

Curious if anyone on the forum is running one of these. They are new to me and have a friend that can get me into one. I have always been shy of the guaze... but not sure if these are better due to amount of layers than the competition guaze filters. Well, curious on experiences or opinions on this system.

This is Frogers husband...yeah we put one on our 06. She did a thread a bit back; had a few pics of it installed and such. Not really a DIY write up or anything though.

We have a 5" straight piped exhaust so we went with the S & B to stop sucking the stock filter in Liked this one over others cause it seemed stouter.

Install was kinda a PITA. Had to fidgit a few things to get installed. Screw holes just didn't like up; a little effort and they all went in though.

So far it seems that the turbo spools more freely. Haven't run a good tank through it yet to see if there is a mileage difference.

I have it on my 6.7 and it is great. I thought it was pretty easy to install. I did have a problem with the hole lining up for one of the sensors. I did have to make a new Lexan cover as mine cracked by one of the screw holes. I went ahead and added a little strip of High Density Foam Insulation underneath to assist in the sealing. I did notice that when I cleaned up the engine area a slight bit of water would seep in around the edge of plexiglass( even B4 the Cracked screw hole ). All in all pretty nice I think it looks pretty cool as well. Turbo sounds great now that I can hear it. Anyway Just my .02
