First of all, I know there are alot of threads bout mileage but my truck has to have some problem. Well I filled it up most of the way the other day and I have bout 216 miles on it so far and its lil below half a tank. Usually my truck dies after it gets a lil lower. I usually get like 350 miles before that happens but sometimes it dies. It seems like I'm gettin more miles before it that happens. Could it be something with my float in my tank, idk, its been doin this for several months and havent gotten around to checking that out
Yeah, I'm thinking that you may have something clogging the intake in your tank. You may hafta drop the tank and clean it out. Not sure, but you MAY have a sock type filter inside of your fuel tank that may need to be replaced.
Also I think I used to get like 450 miles to a tank of fuel thats why I kinda think it's not picking up fuel when it gets so far. I also posted awhile back bout thhis problem caus I ha started it up with starter fuild before when it died and it had white smoke. Now I know or an easiser and safer way to start it now
I don't think it would be your sending unit (float). It' sonly taking 22 -25 gallons to fill up so your not actually out of fuel. I think your tank is bigger than that. I would either drop the tank and have a look or find someone with a scope that will go down the fill pipe and let you see inside the tank.
