horn is possessed again.
About a year ago, I had an issue where my horn would just randomly go off on its own. Always right as I inserted the key into the ignition. While trying to figure it out, the problem just went away so I kind of forgot about it.... until today.
Hopped in the truck, slid the key in and the horn goes off again all on it's own. Had to pull the battery cables to shut it up. Pulled the cables for a few seconds and back on and all is well, for now.
I find it interesting that it's been the middle of winter when I've found the problem and if I recall correctly it's always been on days that static electricity has been very bad.
Anyone have any thoughts? I've seen various posts indicating that it might be the horn switch, but if I understand the setup correctly the horn switch is part of the air bag module and it has to be replaced as a unit. Having checked to price on these, I'd rather not go that route unless I'm certain. Am I correct in my assumption that I could pop the airbag unit off, disconnect the horn wiring, and put it back together without a problem? I know this leaves me hornless for now, but I'm thinking it might be a worthwhile experiment to confirm my assumption.

Parts/Service,
Part number would be great and if you could PM me a price on it, I'd really appreciate it. The dealer up here I talked to only wants to sell me the whole unit.
