Default difference between gasser&diesel 47re

hey guys, have a question for ya. My tranny shifts fine but the converter slips a little under load and was wondering if there is a difference between a gasser 47re tranny and a diesel 47re, looking to rebuild a tranny for the truck...truck have 194000 on it....are there any differences internally? can they be swapped or just rebuild my unit with all the upgrades.......Dallas

I think there is a few differences, the main one being the valve body since the engine rev's lower.

The differences will be found in the diesel having one or two more spider gears in the planetary gearsets. Said gearset housings will be beefier. The clutch-packs sport an increased disc/steel count. The OD governer (if not electronic) will run a different set of weights. Etc.

And then there's the valve-body stuff.
