I WOULD TRY A HALF INCH AND SEE IF YOU COULD TELL ANY DIFFERENCE, THEN JUST GO FROM THERE. I WOULD USE WASHERS FOR TESTING BUT WHEN I GOT THE RIGHT THICKNESS TO STOP THE VIBRATION I WOULD CUT A PEACE OF STEEL TO REPLACE THE WASHERS.

Well i have shimmed it about 1/2" and there is somw what of a differance not as bad on take off now, but still feels like my u-joint is going to blow up at high way speed I noticed my rubber moount on the carrier bearing is starting to rip! and the ****ty part is i am stuck out in the bush!!!!!!!!! miles from any dealer, i have to baby this truck till i get days off!! lol
I got it booked in on my next days off so hopefully iy hnags in there till then!

Oh and i dont know but if anyone else has removed the carrier bearing before you probly broke the bolts off like i did, some sort of stupid nut thats welded on to the braket that you have to grind off after it breaks!!
