Loss of preformance after muffer delete!?
I read on a post that I might see a small loss in low end torque with a muffler delete but it seems that I have lost power all the way through the power band. Before the muffler delete I could step on it and EASILY break the tires loose but now it is very sluggish during exceleration and follows all the way to WOT. Is there anything I can do to get my exceleration back?...Would a good after market intake do it for me?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I wouldn't know why it would make the loss in power. If anything I would think that it would open it up and let it breath better, giving more performance. You might try adding an Aero. I personally don't have any experiance with them but im sure someone will chime in who does. Alot of the guys on here have them and are happy with them.
put an aero 4040 where the cat used to be and you will have your loss back. unless you have a fast spooling turbo this is what you'd get IMO... based on my own experience.
I did a 30" mag & cat delete and had the same problem, mileage dropped & performance lagged unless I turned up the box I had installed. added the aero and it all came back. turbo spools quicker and power comes in at a much lower rpms.

Wierd, my muf delete dropped the low end a hair but definately gained higher up it used to break loose from a roll at about 15mph after the delete it won't until 25mph but then it just keeps spinin where as the stock setup would grab back alot sooner...
But I'm not a fan of spinnin my own tires I'm just a broke white guy....once in a while I get outta hand though

I hardly drive my truck anymore, but whenI installed a 4" straight exhaust, I felt a little more power in general.I didn't like the sound and added a Borla mufler. For some reason I feel the truck runs smoother and the sound is good. Feels more powerful low end. Just my 2 cents.
