Anyone modding their 6.7s yet? My friend picked up an 08 and wants the usual more power, better mileage, etc. I was just wondering what people are using and what their reactions have been so far?

 

alot of stuff for the 6.7 is still in developmental stages, i plan on doing an intake. when my warranty expires i am ripping out my exhaust and doing a 5" turbo back system, and black box to delete the regen cycles (biggest MPG killer). luckily my GVWR being 10100 pounds exempts me from Connecticut emissions testing. the extra $350.00 to go to a 3500 was well worth it.

 

I have an Edge Juice with Attitude on mine (was part of the 6.7L beta test last June), and it definitely makes more power. However, I'm hesitant to use any of the power levels other than stock because it creates a lot more soot and clogs up the DPF, which triggers more regeneration cycles. The best way to make more power on the 6.7 is probably going to involve removing the DPF and cat, adding a black box to fool the ECM, and adding a tuner like the Edge Juice or a Smarty, etc. H&S Performance has created a "DPF Delete Kit" that involves some flanged tubing and a black box. They are apparently still working out the bugs.

 

Thanks for the info. Hopefully some 6.7L "off-road use only" parts and programmers will come out soon.

 

Its my understanding that Dodge now sends a copy of the ECM to Cummins when certin parts fail or when in doubt about if one is or has been chipped. So if you have a chip, programer, Edge or what ever on it or had one on at any time it I'm sure Cummins will find it and your warranty will go by, by.
