Default Why?

Ok guys I currently own a '96 gas ram and guess what the auto tranny has taken a crap. I love my truck but I cant see putting a new tranny in it to go right back to getting 8-10 mpg so I am considering selling it and cutting my losses to buy something different.

I am looking for a 4x4 that gets decent mpg and can pull a small trailer or haul a small load.

After building many smaller 4x4's online I have come to the conclusion that maybe I should just buy a used Dodge diesel it seems to fit all of my criteria. I am thinking about a '02 Ext. Cab short bed 4x4. I just like the looks of the 2nd gen dodges.

Problem is I know nothing about diesels. What do I need to look for? Were some years better then others? What are some common issues with them?

So I guess what im asking is why should I buy a diesel?
Thanks

Rail

Default RE: Why?

I think it was watermelon who knew a guy selling a 12v 2nd gen for 14,500 with only 66K on it. You won't regret a diesel decision, especially a 12v.

Welcome aboard !!
