Default What is "winter blend" fuel?

I know the gasoline get's 10% ethanol to it during winter months. But what actually goes into diesel. I have heard the term "winter blend" being used allot. But can't find any info on what is being put into diesel to make it a, winter blend.

Kerosene is actualy blended into diesel to lower the cloud point to prevent gelling. straight #2 will gell around 0F. the winter blend is able to stay liquid to around -15 to -20F.

Well it all depends on where you live as some parts of the midwest have Arctic winterized #2 diesel that does not have any #1 diesel or Kerosene mixed in to it. More info about it can be found here: http://www.premiumdiesel.com/product/arctic.aspx
