UPDATE, for anyone who cares....lol.
Well, I thought I would be spending about 7 grand for a new motor. Shop called me and informed me that my flexplate had shattered. I can't wait to bring it home and take pics because you will not believe what it looks like.
It broke into so many pieces, it looked like a puzzle. All the broken segments got caught between the flexplate and the tranny adapter housing. The housing itself was cracked from the damage.
The ATS flexplate came this morning. What a hunk of steel. The shop guy was VERY impressed with it. The factory flexplate only has 6 mounting holes where the tc bolts up. The ATS plate has all 12 holes. Now the ATS tc and flexplate will be mated with 12 bolts instead of 6.
The truck should be done tomorrow. I am gonna try and have my neighbor take pics of the broken stuff.
Not bad, almost 190,000 miles on the factory plate with all the added hp/torque....lol. The truck never ceases to amaze me at how tough she is.
