What does truck do when u hammer pedal down in park?
I noticed on my 2004.5 that when i lay into pedal while in park it accelerates fast and then takes a bit to slow down. i sthis the nature of the beast? nature of the common rail and ecm slowing down or what it kinda slows down in steps (jerky dropping)
yes and yes.
you have a govenor that keeps it from over reving, but the turbo takes a moment to wind down after full throttle.
you should not rev it too frequently out of gear (drive).

I've noticed that when you floor it then find yourself in a situation where you need to let off and hit the brakes, the engine wants to keep going.

i remember once reading something about this..... there is fuel that is still in the rail or lines or whatever it is in and the way the RPMS stick up there is because of that fuel being burned...
im sure one of these diesel heads will chime in and shed some light on the whole process, i just figured i would tell you 15% of what i know

nick is on the right track. . .the fuel rail is still highly pressurized and it takes a little bit for the FCA in the CP3 to close everything up to halt the flow of fuel when you remove your foot from the throttle.
