Picked it up today!
Well guys, i picked it up from the shop today. Tranny is done, frame is welded by the steering box, and it felt good to drive my new truck for basically the first time. Its snowing here so i had to be easy on the right foot, but i had it up on the lift tonight and i found those two numbers....53.uuugh,after everything ive been through so far (for those who have read) i find this out. On the plus side shes got 158k on her and no crack...so im hoping for the best. Put inthe new track bar tonight, and tommorow night is hopefully the ball joints, and outter tie rods. after that...this puppy should be set, then its time to hook that tst box back up
Ill get some pics asap

yea...and livin in these wisconsin winters is makin me nervous too, but ill be sure and keep it plugged in at night. I dont tow much besides a snowmobile trailer once in awhile, so i hope ill be alright.
the 53 block was only in the 98-01's
it is just a casting error on the blocks made in brazil where the cooling jacket is only 5.5mm thick instead of 11mm. since your engine is not effected dont worry about it any more
when you do plug your truck in you just need to have it run for a few hours, nothing excessive.
