Ram is hard starting again ...
Yeah the fuel looked like fizzy Mt. Dew soda. When it stopped sucking air it was a crystal clear amber diesel color. If it is sucking air, there more than likely won't be any fuel leaking out. In my case, there was no fuel leak.
I found my leak by taking off everything from the pump back to the tank. Plugging oneendand pressurizing it with compressed air. There was still enough diesel in the line to buble up at the leak. You could also do the same thing and submerge it in water, or spray it with soapy water like you would to find a tire leak.

You missed one though ...

Bob, my FASS is only about 3 feet away from my fuel tank. Do you think the leak is back there?
If your sucking air, it will be between the tank and the pump. If you think about it that is the only sectionof line that is below atmospheric pressure. All the other lines are under pressure and would leak fuel out insted of drawing air in.
I hear ya, but if i was sucking air wouldn't the air seperator ( ala FASS Fuel Air Seperation System ) remove the air from the fuel?
I'm still wondering if there could be some sort of bleed down or back syphon going on or something. I seem to only have the problem after the truck sits unused for about 3 days. Once I get it fired up, it starts fine every time afterwards.

The fuel travels from the tank, into the seperator, the filter, and then to the 44. How could air enter between the seperator and teh filter?
Here's what it looks like. The seperator ( the one with the nipple on the bottom ) is right next to the filter.
