I can't speak specifically for the Dodge Ram, but most automotive forums recommend having a donor vehicle for all the bits and pieces you'll need to convert from auto to manual. Stuff like clutch/brake pedal assemblies, engine control computers, etc. If the manual is shorter or longer than the auto, you'll need different driveshafts, etc. Since your truck isan '07, there might also be warranty issues, if you're the original owner. My advice would be to sell the truck and replace it with one having a manual, but that's just me. Of course you're free to do as you want to.

your best bet would be to invest in a new valve body and torque converter. that will realy help things out.
