I installed Timbrens today
For those of you who load heavy, I installed Timbren overloads on my truck today,on the advice of Nickbeek.I am hoping they will take a little pressure off of my springs. Here is the link if anyone wants to check them out. It took about 20 minutes to do the job with basic hand tools and amazingly not a whole lot of swearing.
my uncle just put those on his rig because of his heavy *** camper. they do work, but i am still gonna go with airbags.
Yeah, they are just overloads. As your bed drops, those hit (and are much different than a rubber bump stop) and cmpress. help take strain off your springs.
The plus is they dont affect your ride at all when not loaded, and you dont have to anything to hem after they are installed. (ie air up/down). BUt, the dont help as much as airbags.

They are just like an extra spring with out the harshness and noise. They keep you more level and stable when loaded. Unlike air bags you don't have to worry about inflating them, or leaks, or onboard compressors. They are like half the cost of an airbag system with the compressor. I had them on my last truck to help when loaded with firewood or pulling the camper. They worked like champ!
