Default Aftermarket Warranties

Has anyone ever bought a Aftermarket extended warranty before????? Is it worth it just to cover the drive train?

It's a big waste of money in my opinion! You have a 100K warranty on the Cummins drivetrain already and I know of no aftermarket warranty that covers over 100K so buying one would be redundant.
Plus I had an extended warranty before and when it came time to use it, by the time I was done, I spent almost as much money fixxing the truck than I would have without the warranty (long Story). Not to mention they will try to get out of fixxing your vehicle if they think they can. It's all BS and your better off saving your $$

Did you look into the price of those warranties? I called about a few that I got in the mail. Most of them were between $2-3k. You can buy a lot of parts for that.

My point exactly, I considered one but then figured I'd just use that money to upgrade the drivetrain. The upgrades I'msaving forare Tq Conv, Input shaft, and upgraded valve body. All Suncoast parts installed with warranty for $2523.

As stated they are usually a big waste of money. They tell you if you buy the warranty then they will fix anything for free, and that's a lie. After your deductible and them scamming you a little bit you will be out quite a bit of your own money. Plus the cost of aftermarket warranties are usually through the roof. Look the truck over real good, buy it and save your money from the warranty. Chances are they'll find a way to get around the warranty anyways.

I've had two aftermarket extended warranties in the past; one on a 1988 Ford Taurus, the other on my 2002 Wellcraft Martinique 2800 (powerboat). I bought both the car and boat used, and each time had the extended warranty transferred to me. The Taurus developed an oil leak when it had about 50k miles. The top end of the engine was rebuilt and I paid a $100 deductible. My Wellcraft has twin Volvo Penta engines, and both of them needed new fuel pumps about two years ago. The starboard outdrive had a catastrophic failure that same year due to a prop shaft seal failure, requiring a complete replacement unit. One of the raw water pumps also failed. The extended warranty on the Wellcraft expires next month, but has saved me several thousand dollars in the last few years.
