Time for new tires...
I went out this morning and noticed I had a low tire. I pulled into the garage to put some air in and I found a nail at the very edge of the tread almost in the sidewall. I don't think this can be repaired. I only have about 20% tread left on all 4 so I guess I'm going to get 4 new ones. I think I am going to go with Pro Comps or Dick Cepeks. I have abuddy who is a dealer andcan get me either one at his cost. I've heard a lot of good things about the Pro Comps, but has anyone ran any Dick Cepeks? They are made by Mickey Thompson so I'm guessing they are pretty good tires. If I get the Pro Comps I'm goning with the 305/65/17s and the 33x12.5/17s for the Dick Cepeks. Any input would be appreciated.
I'm in the same boat. I can get an awsome deal on some Mastercraft tires. but then again I see how long steve and others are going on their pro comps and it is making me wonder as well.
Yeah he can get me Toyos, Nittos, MTs, Pro Comps, or Dick Cepeks. I've got to decide pretty soon because it usually takes 2 or 3 days to get them in and my spare is smaller than the rest of my tires so I don't have any choice but to keep adding air.
I ran Dic Cepek FCII 33x12.5x20 sold them to a co-worker they have about 30k miles on them with about 80% tread left on them. I am now running a set of Dics FCII 35x13.5x20s best tire I've had in a long time. Running mostly gravel roads they don't get chewed up or chip like the Cooper STTs I had, also the Pro Comps and BFGs I ran,got chewed up pretty good as well.
I stopped on my way home today and ordered the Pro Comps. Got the 305/65/17s for $199 each. They will be here Wednesday. I'll let you know how they turn out.
