Beasty back on track but damper position???
there is a hole into the damper, so i assume its for the crankshaft position sensor
4 holes and they seem to be indexed by pair so maybe 2 positions??? how can i know i replaced it in the right position? no TDC showed
did i got lucky? i have no mean of checking it since the original damper falled down...
also i messed for about 1 hr to find the damn way to mount the strap, ive done it a couple time but each time i looked at it while it was on but this time i was screwed...
and my rad support is from a gaz engine so wrong sticker :P

There shouldn't be a mark for TDC on the damper. The only reason most gassers have a mark for TDC is because it's used as an ignition timing reference. These engines don't have thsoe little sparky things, and dampers don't care about TDC, only vibes coming from the crankshaft. So, don't worry Woli, you did it right.

must be a cummins thing. . .I was putting a GM 6.2 together this weekend and the dampener had a timeing mark on it. granted it will only go on one way due to the key ways, it still had a TDC mark for timeing the injection pump.
BTW, I doubt this engine will run for long. . .the block had two cracks in it and it looks like spongebob did the welding job.

on the older engines they use the mark on the injection pump gear for timimg insted of the dampener. The new CR engines have a mark on the dampener since the cp3 doesnt control injection timing. That hole in the back of the dampener is to balance the dampener itself.
