Default BFG A/T or M/T Mileage differences

Once I get my 2 1/2 inch lift on I am going to get some BFG 35's. I need to know if there is a big difference in Mileage between the All Terrains and the Mud Terrains, so I can decide on which ones to get. Also, how is the mud traction with the all terrains?

the MT's wont last as long and will be horrably loud as the AT's. . .you will be better off probably with the AT extreeme's. I'm planning on getting some 35's VERY soon and I am realy leaning tward these, unless the price difference doesnt justify.

As much as I like the looks of the MT's and the Extreme AT's, treadwear and mileage were my first prioritys. I went with the AT's for this reason. I'm told that the more rubber you have on the road, the better your mileage and mpg's will be.

I decided on the toyo mts after a lot of research. Way better than my bf ats and they look good, handle well and really aren't much louder. I would highly recommend them and I would definately get them again. I have about 8000 miles on them and they look new.

Dont buy bfg's, they are way too soft for our heavy trucks and wont last that long. I would look into the pro comp extreme at's or something similar. Im looking at Kumho road venture mt kl71. This is a mud tire they made just for guys who drive on the road a lot and dont do much off road. there made out of a very hard rubber. Although they dont make them in a 35 yet but I hear they will be out in three months. They look real mean too, about the only time im offroad is during turkey season in the spring and all fall and winter when im hunting. Hope this helps.

It is actually the less rubber on the road the more mpg. More contact means more rolling resistance.

I ran the BFG AT's for a long time with no rebalance or even rotation for that matter and I had no problems. The only thing I didn't like about them was the wet traction. When the roads were wet it might as well have been ice. I just bought some Pro Comp Xtreme ATs and I think they are much better tires. They really feel more solid on the road.

I had BFG A/T's on a 93 Dakota. Under normal braking, the front tires would start sliding on wet roads. I just about **** my pants the first couple of times that happened. Otherwise, I loved the tires the other 99.9% of the time.

Yeah Brain, My buddy has some BFG MT on his ferd and the are slick as (*&( when its wet outside and wear pretty fast. I got the PComp Xtreme A/Ts love um, quiet didn't hurt mpg much goin up to a 35x12.5 grab great in wet conditions, mud, sand.
