Glad you got some new tread for your truck. I'm surprised that a 3/4 ton truck came with D rated tires. Anyway does it show D tires on the drivers door plate? My self I hate that there are very few good and affordable 265/70/17 E rated tires. I just hate the idea of having to pay over $200.00 per tire then you need to add mounting & balancing and then 7% tax grrrrrrrrr.

What's the difference between the D's and the E's anyway?

8 ply vs. 10 ply, stiffer sidewall capable of carrying more weight I do believe.

Well ifI never carry a load does it really matter?

I never carry anything of any weight because of the bed cover so does it matter? I do tow my camper on weekends though. I don't remember off of the top of my head how heavy it is, butI know it's not one of those behemiths like Riv has.

Did I screw up?

Nah, you should be OK. If you really towed alot (and heavy), I'd worry. As a matter of fact the 2500 Power Wagon comes with D rated tires in that size. The only real difference is the weight of the Cummins.

awesome, your going to love them. I still have mine on... 73k miles & climbing... still good amount of tread left but since the heavy duty steering upgrade I dont think I have the alignment dialed in right... insides of the fronts seem to be cupping some.

You will be fine mayfair. You are right, those will look nice, I always thought your truck's shoes looked a little small for him

I looked on my build sheet and it said my truck came stock with LT245/75R16E OWL All Season Tires so I assume that means they came with E rated tires from the factory not D's.

Am I effed ??

No you’re not efffffed. As long as you keep the air pressure up and don't tow heavy you should be OK as you went to a bigger 17 inch tire and it should have close to the same or the same weight carrying capacity as the 16 that came on it originally. You may notice that the sidewalls are not as stiff (have more flex to them) when cornering as an E rated tire but you'll get use to it.

My self I always replace tires with the same rating or better then what came on it from the factory as from time to time I put a lot of weight in the bed and or hooked to a heavy trailer for my uncle and I don’t want to worry about if the tires will hold up or not. Anyway enjoy the new tread once you get them on the truck.
