Default tires

I know that this has been beat into the ground, but I found some 315/70/17 Cooper tires for about $900. I am running a steel 17" 7.5 rim. The tires are rated for 8.5-10.0 rims. I know these tires are not rated for my rims, but can I safely run them?

On my old Dakota i used to run 32 11.5 R15 on a 15X6" wheel the tires ballooned out a bit but this made the footprint larger while in the sand. After I lifted it I was running 33 1250 on 15 X8" wheels. The pic with the kayaks are with the 32's and the other is with the 33's.
