Default Fuel Additive

I'm sure there is a post somewhere, Could not find it. Does anyone use a fuel additive to clean out the system or does Dodge or cummings not recommend using such additives? If you use it what works best?

Thanks

I have in the past used drews brew, I have used psd, now I use wvo and that seems to keep things nice and clean. I am sure that with it being a 07 you should have no worries. I would be more concerned with lubricity then cleanliness at this point. For that a lot of people are adding a little 2 stroke to there fuel.

I would be more concerned with Filtering the fuel, glacierdieselpower.com sells a nice kit which has a 2 micron filter. As the Bosch injectors really can't take any dirt at all, going to 2 micron will save the injectors, cp3 pump and your money. Kit is around $130.00 or $200.00 for a "big" line kit. Well worth it, just wish I had installed mine long ago, wouldn't have to spend so many loonies on new sticks!!! Then as for a fuel conditioner pick one and always remember to add it at every fill!

From all of my reading on several Dodge/Cummins forums most of the 2006 and newer 5.9's don't get any gain from using additives (i.e., PS, MMO, Opti Lube, 2-cycle oil etc) in every tank. 2-cycle oil has worked well in older engines but its hit and miss for 2006 and newer trucks. Some see 1-2.5 mpg loss from 2-cycle oil and other don't see any loss nor do they get any increase by using it. The only time I use any additives is if I want to clean up my injectors (Lucas along with a load and a 4 hour drive) or anti gel (your favorite brand) in the winter if I buy fuel I'm not sure is winterized.
