i met a guy this weekend who says he wans t put his V-10 ford up against my cummins in a race and bumper to bumper he never seems to have ime though i am willing and able, he said he hates he way diesel smells i told he would be smelling mine as my cummins whipped gasp i mean gas motor. we will see if he ever wants to actually do it.He probably cant afford to drive it because he only gets 8 to 9 mpg

if your truck isn't modded at all it might be a closer race than you think. i had a friend of mine race my truck with his f-150 with the 5.4L before i added the adrenaline n lets just say i hung with him but couldn't pass him. he hasn't tried it again since i put on the adrenaline. wish he would because he would be in for one hell of a surprise!

 

Unless you are modded, I wouldn't bet on you whipping him good. I traded a V10 ford in on my Cummins, and honestly comparing stock to stock it could be a close race. The only part I didn't like about that V10 was the fuel milage. that's really where the Cummins whips it's butt.

Now, if you had said he had a Powerjoke it would be no contest

 

well ehh honestly u prolly beat him but it'll be close. if he had a powerstroke u'd be done. Love the CTD but stock for stock against the powerstroke and DMAX the CTD is the slowest off the dealer lot. after modding the CTD has much more potential due to reliability and having a much stronger foundation then the other trucks. but stock for stock not so much. but no one buys a diesel for speed u buy it for towing and the CTD rapes all of them in towing dept.
