Default Need help chosing a slide hammer

I've wanted to get a slide hammer for a long time, but now i NEED one. I'm replacing the front axles on the wifes 99 contour. (next vehicle will NOT be a ferd, I ditched the exploder for the CTD) They are kinda slow on the contour form. So, I figured I'd ask here. I know there are some experienced mechanics here. I did get a response saying a slide hammer with a c-hook would be my best bet. Now, I need your advice on where to get one. What size, 5 or 10 lbs.? Where to buy? What to look for as far as attachments?

When I replaced axle bearings on myPontiac I borrowed a friends slide hammer, a Powerbuilt 5 lb. Like the kindyou would find at Pep Boys and it worked great. It waswhole a kit with many attachments. Or justthrow down the man card and get a Snap On!

Well.....I just orderd a OTC slide hammer and cv joint remover attachment. I found an online company that is less that 80 miles from where I live. Hopefully it will be here by Tuesday. I need to have a shop press in a new wheel bearing replaced as well.....so it will be awhile before I get the wifes car back together. It seems like every time I work on that damn ferd its down for 5 days.[:@]

Heres some links to the parts I bought incase anyone else runs into something similar:

I figure that I can add attachments as I need them. I know there were many times in the past where one would have come in really handy. Now I'll have one for any future needs.
