Can you still adjust the rears by backing up and slamming on the brakes like you used to be able to?

IDK about the self adjusters... there is a rubber plug you can yank to manually adjust them. I'd go 1~2 clicks to start so you dont go to far and have them drag on you.

LOL ... I looked at the rear drums to try and adjust them and for whatever reason there were about 4 or 5 rubber plugs back there. That's why I was asking about the the whole backing up thing. I didn't want to start removing plugs and possibly open upPandora's box.

should be one that is towards the bottom @ the 6 o'clock position (or close to it... that's where the adjuster "should" be...

Ok, If it doesn't rain tonight, I'll look for it.

It definately pulls out from the outside?

I was afraid that it went in from the inside and if I pulled it through I'd never get it back in ( without having to removethe rear wheels and drums )

Well ... thinking about what you had suggested about an exhaust brake, I checked with my Garmin to see exactly what kinda driving I am doing Check this out ...

I drove 13,531 miles since getting it
Overall average miles - 28.0
Moving average speed - 34.2 mph
Max Speed - 106 mph
Stopped time - 86:41

Aren't exhaust brakes kinda set up not to work until above 35mph? If so, it doesn't look like they'd help me much at all.
My exhaust brake works all the way down to 10-15 MPH... My average speed also is about 35-45 MPH as well... Also I use my exhaust brake to warm up the truck in the cold morning using the high idle TSB... I average 600-800*F EGT just idling... I'm completely warmed up by 3-5 mins to 175*F... (Still got to finish my IAT sensor fooler!)
