02cummins, you guys in Rochester are about $0.20 higher they my local Kwik Fill at $4.29, as for the theory of stop buying from Exxon Mobil, that was around a while and ago. They don't care because someone else will buy it. I'm sure of the web page but there is a way to find out how to buy gas that is not supporting foreign oil.

The problem I have with that is that Exxon sells Diesel here for about .10 a gallon cheaper! And with the way prices are, .10 adds up fast!

if you dont think it would work break it down to a small town that has just two gas stations, if someone publishes in the newspaper to strike agains gas station A unless they drop down to 2.5 from 3 gas station A would go out of business because it wouldnt be hard for everyone to just go to gas station B. Then once gas station A goes to 2.5 nobody would buy from station B so they would drop their price, then if they both talk to eachother and say lets both raise it back to 3, then everyone just starts buying from B again until A lowers its price to what the citizens stated.
the national dont buy gas doesnt make sense as everyone will just buy it the day before or the day after. regardless of how much planning and participation goes on it simply cant work.
the above could work but we are too stupid of a society to actually band together to do something.
ok look at it this way, your favorite beer is 4 dollars cheaper per 12 pack at the store across the street from the store you normaly buy it from, what store are you going to buy from?
We can all chip in a dollar, that should be more than enough money to hire Steven Segal and Jean Cluade Van Damme to rage a personal war against the oil company's like "On Deadly Ground".
This would never work. Petroleum products are highly fungible commodities.
