check gauges light???
A couple of days ago my check gauges light comes on while I'm out tooling around town; everything looked OK so I didn't think much of it. Then, just before I make my final stop of the day everything starts going crazy- mph and rpm gauges start flailing around, abs light comes on, radio flickers on and off, volt gauge drops to zero. I shut the truck down and continue with an appointment that lasts about 45 minutes, and when I go to start the truck, it's dead, I get about a half a crank and then a crazy clicking noise. The tow truck shows up about 2 hrs later, and just for the hell of it I try to start the truck and if fires up like nothing was ever wrong. Anyway, I have it towed to the dealership...the next morining I get a call from the service guy and he wants to know what the deal is because thetruckseems to be running fine. He says he hooked it into the computer and everything is OK- no codes. He says he can't fix it if it's not broke. So I get the truck home last night and it seems to be operating alright until this afternoon-the check gauges light comes back on (the gauges are all reading normal). I just know that when I take the truck back to the dealership the damn check gauges light is going to turn off and he'll send me on my way...any suggestions???
do the key on trick. turn the key from off to on three times leaving it in the on possition after the third turn. you will see numbers flash where the ODO readout is, copy them down and post back.
BTW, if it looks like it sayd --done-- that is it.

Thanks for the insight guys; I ended upleaving it at the dealership; they said they'll look into the problem first thing Monday morning. It just so happens that I am going to be out of town all next week, so hopefully they'll have the problem solved by the time I get back.
