How do I check my ujoints???
Last time I took the truck in for warranty work, the tech stated that the ujoints would need to be replaced in the near future. How can I check them myself to se if they need to be replaced?
You can go under the truck grab the drive shaft at the u-joint and shake it.There should be no movement in the shaft. You can also put a pry bar on the joint and try to move it that way.
Ok thnx ill try those suggestions. I also noticed when i reverse out of my driveway and cut the wheel to the right, just before i put it in drive and the truck comes to a stop in R, it makes a solid thud sound. Not sure where thats coming from, always thought it was the lift or axel, any ideas??

Drive slowly in a circle, first one way then the other. Listen for a clicking sound from the front end and/or some kick back through the steering wheel.
