Default 315/?/R17

so i am set for the Procomp xtreme a/t for my truck, but im not too sure what percentage of the width to choose for sidewall...
315/75/17 measures out to be 35.6 inches tall. that would be the tire i want only if they made it!! they only make that tire for 16 inch rims.
so my second thought would be 35/12.5/r17, but i thought that tire might look small for a 6 inch lift kit, dont u guys think?

oh and i looked at the tire specs and it says these tires are only 2 Ply????? whaaaaa....??
i want a tire that is stong and tough in cold temps as well. also that measures out to about 35 inches or better. ill have a diff set of tires for summer time but these are for the stock rims....what u guys think??? any other tires u guys can recomend?
thankssss\

35's wont look too bad with a 6" lift.

I have 315/70/17's and they measure out to a bit over 34".

Or you could cram a 37 under there! And if they say 2 ply, I'd hope to god they were refering to the sidewall...

Just looked on ProComp's website. The tires are a Load Range D (8-Ply) for the 35x12.50R17's.

I saw that too. There is alot written on the tire. It doesnt say 8 ply, it tells you in detail of all the ply there are throughout the tire, that makes up the 8 ply I guess. The website says 8, sidewall say a bunch of stuff.

IIRC: B=4 ply, C=6 ply, D=8 ply, E=10 ply, and the ever-rare F=12 ply.
Also, these are just the load range ratings. They do not apply to passenger car tires.

Wow... I'd never heard of a 10 ply D, but I don't doubt it for a second. I just remember some of the basic stuff from when I worked in the tire shop, so really, I don't know a whole lot about it all.
