Plastic tips are great, i shoot winch ballistic tip for hunting. when i target shoot i use the cheap winchester crap, but theres a huge diff in my MOAs, ill shoot a 1-1.5 inch grouping (5 shot min) @ 100yrds with the crap, and get to my best where i keyholed 3 rounds and the other two where within 2/3rds of an inch.... and at 300 yards im around 3-3.5 inches with the reg and 2 inches with the silvertips, also ive benchrest shot 1.25 inch 3 shot group at 300 with the silvertip.
.308 good enough to kill a man @1000 yards, its good enough to kill a deer....

jakebrake,
those shot stats i posted previously were with a tikka t3 lite, sakos cheaper brother, it was 600 bucks for the rifle. ive been happy as hell with it, i beat it up in the brush, glad i got the lite for hunting, if i only target shot i would have gone with the heavier barrel, but sometimes when im hog huning ill carry that and my over under so that and water and crap adds up in the weight dept..

Yeah I just want the sako as a tack driver. Its too heavy of a gun and too big of a round to do any hunting with it. I carry the 30-30 whenI go hunting. No need for accuracy when the brush is as thick as it is up here. Your shooting them off the end of your barrel.

Close quarter situations, I prefer my Benelli M3 Super 90.

I have an older preban version with the pistol grip.

Jake that is almost as bad as the morning I drew on the cat going to the truck.
I seem to remember her telling me that when I sent her a text message, late one night, (after she went to bed and the house was quiet) she "drew" on her pager that vibrated off her desk and hit the floor! Now that would have been funny, watching her trying to explain to the boss why she shot her work cell phone to oblivion!

And then explain to the hubby about the hole in the floor.
